Sergio Bambarén

Sergio Bambarén, born in Peru in 1960, rose to international acclaim with his debut novel 'The Dolphin', an instant bestseller.

The story was inspired by a life-changing encounter with a lone dolphin on the Portuguese coast during a sabbatical. This encounter sparked the vision that would captivate readers worldwide. Its succes led to a 2009 CGI-animated adaption, released in more than 40 countries and hailed as a milestone in the Peruvian film industry.

Leaving behind a career in engineering, Bambarén devoted his life to writing and his enduring passion on the sea. After many years in Sydney, he now decides his time between Peru and the Canary Islands, where he contributes to various projects, including the non-profit organization Delphis.
